GHLL Resumption of Play Guidelines - Fall 2020

GHLL RESUMPTION OF PLAY GUIDELINES - FALL 2020

Greater Holiday Little League Nation,

The Greater Holiday Little League Board of Directors have been working with Pasco County to resume baseball activities this fall.  The health of players, coaches, and families are our top priority.  In conjunction with Pasco County, the GHLL Board of directors have implemented some guidelines all must follow to ensure the safety and health of the families that call GHLL home.

Please be sure to act with integrity when understanding why the guidelines are being implemented.  Communicate as soon as possible if someone in your household tests positive of COVID-19. GHLL commits to providing you notification if and when a player or someone in close contact has tested positive.  The notification will be sent out via league email and will be followed up by your team manager or team parent. We will be sure to protect your anonymity when handling these situations.

Cleaning/sanitation

  • A board member will be present with hand sanitizer; all visitors will be required to apply the hand sanitizer before heading to their dedicated field. Please adhere to the 6ft social distance rule if a line or group begins to form during this procedure.
  • The bathrooms will be disinfected each day, by the county, before use.
  • A manager/coach will be required to disinfect all team equipment prior to each practice.
  • No borrowing of personal helmets or bats will be allowed. If a player is to use the team issued helmet they will be designated to that helmet for the remainder of that day’s practice. If the team bat is used, it will need to be disinfected before another player uses it.
  • We will have extra Personal protection equipment (PPE) stored where our first aid kits are inside the concession stand.

General Rules/guidelines

  • All managers and/or coaches will be required to take attendance of all players and coaches at each practice. You will email your attendance record to the player agent within 24hrs of your practice.
  • If a player, manager, coach or family member does not feel well, please stay home. We ask that you allow for 72 hours of no symptoms, before returning.
  • At this time we are allowing only 2 persons per player to attend practices.
  • Each parent must bring their own chair to sit in.
  • We are asking everyone to not bring siblings if/when possible. If siblings must attend, they must have a chair of their own as well and maintain the social distancing guidelines set forth. (i.e not interfering with other’s space or horseplay in and around the complex)
  • All players and coaches will enter the field through the 1st base dugout entrance. If a player or coach is to exit the field they will exit through the 3rd base dugout entrance.
  • Dugout benches are not to be used and will be roped off. The only exception is if a player is injured and needs to sit for evaluation of injury or sit to rest.
  • No handshakes, fist pumps, high fives or team breakdown celebrations are to take place.
  • Please maintain a 6ft social distance guideline for any team meeting/coaching instruction.
  • Water fountain and concession stand will be closed, please be sure to bring your own drink.
  • No food will be allowed at the facility, this includes any peanuts or sunflowers seeds.
  • Masks are recommended, especially in common areas such as the concession stand area and restrooms.
  • All bleachers will be closed and roped off.
  • If your team is not playing or practicing, you are not to be at the fields.
  • Not sitting directly behind home plate.

GameDay Rules/Guidelines

  • All managers and/or coaches will be required to take attendance of all players and coaches at each game. You will email your attendance record to the player agent within 24hrs of your game or leave at concessions.
  • If a player, manager, coach or family member does not feel well, please stay home. We ask that you allow for 72 hours of no symptoms, before returning
  • All cleaning and sanitizing procedures of team equipment will still be required.
  • No food will be allowed in dugout areas, this includes sunflower seeds and peanuts
  • No handshakes, fist pumps, high fives or team breakdown celebrations are to take place. This includes end of games congratulations, please find another fun way to celebrate sportsmanship.
  • Please maintain a 6ft social distance guideline for any team meeting/coaching instruction.
  • We know everyone wants to come out and root for their favorite player and team, but please limit the amount of spectators if and when possible.
  • All siblings or younger children attending the games are still required to stay with their immediate family member or guardian. Please do not allow them to interfere with others personal space or horse play around the common areas.
  • Masks are recommended, especially in common areas such as the concession stand area and restrooms.
  • Dugouts will be able to be used on game days only. We recommend keeping only 6-8 players at a safe distance in the dugout and using chairs directly outside the dugout areas for the remaining players to avoid crowding in dugouts.
  • We anticipate anywhere from 20-25 players per field and 30-40 spectators per field on game days only.

Please do you best to adhere to all the new guidelines, rules and procedures. As the local and state guidelines change, these guidelines may change as well.  That information will be relayed to you as it happens. Remember these rules are for the safety and health of everyone involved with Greater Holiday Little League and we are all in this together.

Thank you,

GHLL Board of Directors
